Brian Burgess, Editor Editor’s Introduction
It seems a world away since the introduction of the first issue of this magazine, and yet, we have the Doncaster edition of the Education & Training Yearbook, literally bursting upon the scene, bigger and more comprehensive than ever.
I must extend, before continuing, my heartfelt thanks, to our Sponsors, friends and colleagues, who have given encouragement and support, and without whom this publication would not have been possible.
With a lifetime of teaching, much as a sixth form tutor, I am gratified with the apparent tremendous effort directed especially toward school leavers and young students of the Doncaster area, with the emphasis on future employment and the skills and abilities required in the world of industry and commerce.
I believe a simple truth is that we all have a skill or potential ability created within us that others recognise as beneficial and a possible asset, whether recognised by a multi- national organisation or a one man operation.
Education is the key, not the only way, but the easier and more socially accepted route to a better standard of living and more rewarding job prospects.
The Yearbook is proud to have been associated with Doncaster and it's exciting forward looking plan for the future, and everyone involved in this project, and at the sharp end of education generally. May you succeed in your endeavours and in your vision for the future.

Publishing Director, Helen Chant The Magazine’s Publishing Director
I should like to place on record, my appreciation of the work of our Publishing Director, Helen Chant, during this past year.
It was Helen’s long conceived idea, whilst she was working in the world of Newspapers, from which the magazine was born. Her far sighted intuition and tenacity has laid the firm foundations of this Company, and I express my sincere gratitude for her dedication and commitment.
